‘‘How to fall in love’ was written spontaneously overnight about someone I’d never met in real life. I spent the most of last year FaceTiming a girl who I slowly started to fall harder and harder for with every conversation we had. I’d write tons of songs explaining how I felt, watching her feel safer and more comfortable around me with every one that I would show her. If I’m being honest, this song is essentially just a love letter to her; trying to teach her that falling in love can be easy as long as it’s with the right person.’

BIOGRAPHY
Emerging from Western Sydney, 22 year old Sri-Lankan/Australian wordsmith Ama, is the latest voice breaking through the indie pop landscape.
The self-confessed emotional wreck, turned songwriter is making an impact with her incredible storytelling, assured vocals and introspective lyricism. Guitar in hand, Ama’s honest takes on relationships in every light, host an emotional but fresh perspective. Influenced by the likes of Alexander 23, Gracie Abrams & Grace Enger, Ama’s music bites with a maturity that allows listeners to explore the vulnerability of her words, connect with their innermost feelings, and relate to the raw honesty in her thought provoking storytelling.
Her highly praised debut ‘Love Online’ received airplay on Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, FBI Radio, Joy FM, Abreak58, and saw coverage from blogs locally and internationally. Having recently opened for Sam Fischer and performing at sold out shows with Sofar Sounds in Sydney and Wollongong, Ama treasures her audiences both in person and online. Her latest release ‘Unavailable’ was greatly received with placement on various apple editorial playlists such as ‘New music daily’, ‘New in pop’ and ‘Sad Bangers’; ‘Released’ and ‘RIPE’ playlists for Youtube music. Heavily involved in the TikTok Live community, she is also a featured Australian livestream creator.
Beginning her performance career at the age of 17, Ama is familiar with life as a musician, gigging full-time across Sydney. Her strong work-ethic paired with her passion for creating music has caught the attention of audiences and industry alike.
Produced by all-female queer production duo ‘Middleman’, her highly anticipated follow up single ‘How to fall in love’ is slated for release on May 17th.
